A good on-screen throw-up
This absolutely horrifying. A substitute teacher in Connecticut is facing 40 years in prison for pornographic pop-ups on a classroom computer. Her defense is saying that it was caused by adware. Uh, DUH? I just can't even fathom going through that - being punished because a school computer lacked the proper security. She was under strict orders NOT to unplug or turn off the computer. I mean, what do you DO then? That poor woman. Can you even imagine? There's a collection for her defense fund - go
here if you want to help. (I'm going to contribute a little bit. I tell you this not because I think I'm all fancy and helpful - I'm telling you this because I never, EVER do stuff like this. Ever. Not even for homeless puppies. So something must have struck a nerve.)

DUH! She could have turned off the monitor without turning off the computer. Or contacted the principal--if she really was innocent.
this happened to me at work once...the thought of turning off the monitor didn't even cross my mind! there are legs and boobs and hoo-hahs flashing up and your mind goes blank. there were customers in the store too. we've got ourselves protected at work now, but i understand her shock and lack of turning the monitor off...
